Management of The Patra Bali Resort & Villas in Badung Regency, Bali, on Friday planted 100 rare plants that was attended by Badung Regent, AA Gde Agung.
Those rare plants are maja, donation from ABDI BUMI foundation lead by Made Iwan Dewantama. Besides maja, there is also majegau, badung, mundeh, gatep and sentul.
GM The Patra Bali Resort & Villas, Hakim Affan explained that plantation is conducted in order to preserving and balancing the life as a reflection for one attitude for his company consistency to support environment preservation and protecting Bali ecosystem and history. That is why, in this occasion also the resort management donating 10 maja seeds to be planted in the central government of Badung regency.
Badung regent, AA Gde Agung in his speech said that his party fully supported this kind of activity conducted by a private company in order to preserving the island environment.
“This kind of activity, besides could bring benefit for natural preservation, it will occur as the same effect toward the rare plant. In the future I wish for the same plantation event and plant preservation will be conducted regularly,” the regent said.
He conveyed the industrial development that usually exploiting natural resource in order to fulfill their production need without any consideration toward natural and environment preservation will only lead to a bad effect in human life.
“Cutting the trees indiscriminately without any single thought to replant it is very dangerous for our environment preservation since it is the main cause for land slide and flood. I appreciate for the participation of The Patra Bali Resort & Villas with this tree plantation event,” he said.
Besides the regent, the event also attended by TNI AU Ngurah Rai Commandant, Letkol (PnB) Aldrin P. Mongan, members of PHRI Bali as well as related institutions. |
